NEW MOMENT MAGAZINE No35 – BALKAN EROS

Can a gunshot result in something positive? Can destruction be regarded as a part of creativity? New issue of New Moment magazine for art and advertising tried to give an unexpected answer to these questions, at the same time trying to help solve a serious social problem.

Not without grounds, Balkans has become almost a synonym for destruction. At the same time, it is also the home of extraordinary creativity. These two seemingly opposing forces – destruction and creativity, inspired a special issue of the magazine, published in the partnership with Red Cross of Serbia.

In the process opposite to “balkanization”, the issue brought together a diverse group of international and regional artists, authors and thinkers.

What makes this issue unique is a literal use of destruction as an integral part of the process of creation: Each magazine was shot with a real bullet and the resulting hole was treated as the central part of the magazine design.

At the final page of the magazine, the bullet passed through a drawing of a gun, symbolically “shooting the weapon”, with a clear call “For life without weapons”.
